Yes the next step is to improve the site and local area. However, for this to happen it needs the support of the whole community.
Please come to the New Resident's Association meeting later this month and show your support for improving the area.

BRAG's remit was to ensure that the open space wasn't lost or walls erected. The Residents Association initial meeting will be held on 20 January 2010 and they will be taking up the modernisation, refurbishments and the installation of new equipment with the council. Anyone willing to help the Residents Association with this task please let us know and we will pass on any messages to them.

Now that you have your wish and have the Rec as it is - are you planing on plowing funds into updating it ?

As Poole Town council wont and you scared off the only company that wanted to improve it...

Dear All

We appear to be getting to the end of this hard fought battle and I would just like to say a huge thank-you to all of you at BRAG who haven't given up and continued to fight even when it seemed the Council were determined to push this scheme through.

I live on Recreation Road and wanted you to know how grateful I am for all you have done!

I am a regular user of Recreation Road and Alder Road. The daylong heavy traffic on Alder Road often causes traffic congestion in the area and makes it difficult to enter Alder Road from Recreation Road or Yarmouth Road.

This congestion is only going to get worse as a result of the John Lewis and other Retail outlets as well as the 3000 member DW Fitness Club being developed at the Pottery Roundabout site next to Alder Road.

Adding the traffic resulting from any Football Club development will make the congestion situation in this area intolerable.

Any development plans need to consider the impact the Pottery Junction Retail outlets and Fitness Club will have on the area, particularly increased traffic congestion and the resulting enviromental pollution.

Branksome needs every bit of public open space it already has even more to offset increasing enviromental pollution caused by developments such as the Pottery Roundabout scheme.

Hi
Thank you for your positive comments and suggestions.
We would love to have busy pictures on the web site. However, you have to be careful about loading up people's photographs without permission and especially children. Also, the lack of 'techie' knowledge and software to blur faces doesn't help.

Good afternoon,
I live in Albert Road and use the rec regularly with my 2 boys. The website is great and hopefully the council will see sense. Might I suggest that more photos of a busy rec would show how many people already use it and how the community would suffer if half the rec was lost to a short sighted development.

Best regards,
Hugh
