Many residents turned out to the first New Residents Association meeting.
The first item on the agenda was to vote on the name. The residents who were present voted in favour of:
The Branksome West Residents Association.
Next candidates were nominated and voted in to serve on the committee. Further details to be announced at a later date ( hopefully on the new website for the Residents Association, which is coming soon).
BRAG IS NO LONGER AN ACTION GROUP.
This site will remain open for a while to support residents in making contact with the Residents Association.

Congratulations and many heartful thanks to all those who supported us.
Every letter that was written, petition that was signed, hours of research into policies and legislation, meetings attended and peaceful protests in the cold helped to keep Branksome Rec, a free and open space for today and the future!
The irony being that the refusal for planning permission came from all the reasons we put forward to the Environment and Overview Scutiny Committee and the Full Council, plus all the letters sent to the council from the start! Namely this being in contravention to the Local Plan and Core Strategy.
As soon as the minutes of the planning meeting are available a link to them will go on this web site!

The agenda for the planning meeting including the Planning Officers Report and recommendation to REFUSE planning permission can be found by clicking on the link below:
Although this is a positive step forward, as it reiterates our concerns, it is still vital that as many people as possible attend the Planning Committee Meeting at the Harbour.
The Planning Committee may decide to ignore the Planning Officer’s report and still allow a private company to wall off public open space.

First, our site is dedicated to saving Branksome Recreation Ground
as a public open space and to protect it from inappropriate development by Poole Town Football Club.
This campaign hopefully will lead to much required improvements of the facilities that are available. The recreation ground is well loved and used and should be available to the whole community as a whole area whilst still protecting public open space. Find all the news on this website..updated regularly!
